The Cinematics é uma banda de Indie Rock/Rock Alternativo (Classificado no sub-genero "Revival Post-Punk") originário de Glasgow, Escócia.
Formado por Scott Rinning (Voz e Guitarra), Larry Reid (Guitarra), Adam Goemans (Baixo) e Ross Bonney (Bateria).
Na formação original, a banda contava com o Guitarrista Ramsay Miller.
Ramsay e o restante da banda se conheceram em Glasgow, na época escolar (na escola Dingwall).
