M83 é um grupo de música eletrônica. Originário de Antibes, França, M83 foi formado em 2001 por Nicholas Fromageau e Anthony Gonzalez. Com três álbuns lançados, M83 atingiu uma certa popularidade nos Estados Unidos, onde é publicada sob o seloMute Records, associado à EMI.
A música de M83 ocupa um espaço entre o Shoegazing e o Post Rock. As composições, principalmente do segundo disco, "Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts", foram elogiadas pela crítica, e o grupo já teve suas músicas em comerciais do Pontiac, álbum de remixes da banda Bloc Party e trilha sonora dos filmes Night Watch e A Scanner Darkly.
Durante a elaboração do terceiro álbum, "Before the Dawn Heals Us", Fromageau se afastou temporariamente do M83, e todas as faixas ficaram a cargo de Gonzalez.
Curiosidade: O nome grupo se deve à galáxia M83.
